Precision Alignment of Target Chamber Components
Fusion Energy Reaction - Generative AI

ATT Metrology Solutions was contracted by PDM to align all the critical components for the NIF Target Chamber for Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. The project represents the largest laser fusion project in the world, at a cost of nearly $1.5 Billion.

ATT assisted PDM by precision locating and verifying 192 critical ports, reverse engineering the opening of a key Defense Department test port, setting several hundred radiation panel locators and monitoring the fabrication of the initial 33 foot diameter sphere and the base support structure. ATT will perform the final alignment of the Target Chamber in the main NIF Building.
